How I practice

I love being an Osteopath and however hard my working day may be, I always come home knowing that I have done my best in trying to help my patients. I generally use structural osteopathic techniques (soft tissue, stretching, mobilising and manipulative techniques) often with dry needling (acupuncture), taping and exercise advice. I have training in ergonomics, core stability training, yoga teaching and spiral stabilisation and have worked with elite athletes in sports psychology coaching as well as rehabilitation. I believe an effective osteopath needs to be a pain detective or "Painspotter" It requires careful, thoughtful questioning and  assessment to establish what the real causes of a patients problems are; not just the precipitating factor which patients often believe is the cause of their problem. I believe Osteopaths are generalists. We deal with all areas of the body and a vast array of different problems. I have treated patients from 3 days to 94 years old, many ethnic backgrounds and a huge variety of jobs and interests. I have seen many people with neck and back pain but all of them have a unique life story, medical history and lifestyle which makes the job so fascinating.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy, practiced exclusively by trained osteopaths, utilises gentle hands-on techniques targeting the head and body. With refined palpation skills, practitioners detect subtle changes, facilitating self-adjustment and promoting overall health expression. Suitable for all ages, including babies and the elderly, it offers gentle yet effective relief.
